The easiest knot to use for leaders is the water knot.

Start by laying the ends of nylon together larger diameter is on the left side and nylon going towards the end is on the right

Form a circle or loop and pass the short end of the larger diameter and the long end of the smaller back throught the circle

Repeat the process twice more so you have three turns of nylon

Lubricate and pull both ends gently apart closing the loop

Trim off tag ends close to knot or leave one if using a dropper

The Blood knot

Cross both lengths of nylon

One end is wound round the standing part of the other four times and passed through the gap between thumb and othe end of nylon as shown

Now pinch the line at this point and with your other hand wind the free end around the standing point in the opposite direction for four turns and pass through the same loop but in the opposite direction.

Lubricate and the awkward part to learn is pulling on the standing parts without the ends slippy out.
